Mt. Whitney’s Actual Elevation – 14,505 feet.

Originally when I created my Mt. Whitney images, I did a Google search for the elevation.  The source I found had it listed at 14,497 or 4418 meters.  Apparently it was incorrect. That might have been the original assessment when it was measured in the 1800s.

Crater Lake National Park

If you love America’s National Parks, then Crater Lake National should be on your must see list.  It’s an awe inspiring place with a fascinating geological history.  One can easily drive the 33-mile (53 km) rim in a day and there are several vantage points to view the lake.  One day I plan to cycle around the rim.  Some of those grades look brutal, so I’d better start training for it now! Steve Forney’s San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge

I happy to announce the latest in my famous world landmarks series – San Francisco. This one has been planned for quite some time, but I hesitated to create it. At first it appeared that there were too many letters in “San Francisco” to fit in the space under the image. Paris, London or New York all fit with ease and are legible. San Francisco is a tight squeeze yet it does manage to work.
